@Dimitrios: Thanks, Dimitrios. Yes, it can be very dangerous. :) This bolt hit about a mile away, but what you can't see is that I was on the deck of Grand Canyon Lodge, beneath an array of lightning rods and 5-feet from the entrance. Most of the lightning I photograph at the Grand Canyon is so distant that we don't hear the thunder.
