Many people can pick up a camera and compose a frame; photographers start to distinguish themselves when they learn to manage the variables their camera "sees" differently than their eyes do: light, depth, and motion.

I absolutely Love the water motion that you achieved in this image! It is really beautiful. I just stared at it for a good while ;-). The top of El Capitan reaches out from the clouds like an approaching monolith moving slowly... and the tones are just fantastic. Reading your narrative reminds me that, still, after all these years, I have SO much to learn and so much work to do relative to applying these lessons to my shoots.....But at least the way you describe and explain it all makes total sense to me, and I can work at these lessons. Thank you so much for always inspiring! Beautiful!

@Denny Jump Photo: Thanks, Denny. This was a fantastic day—pretty much everywhere I stopped I found something beautiful. The composition was pretty basic, though I did have to move around a bit to make the rocks work. The motion blur helped smooth what I thought was distraction motion in the water.
