Even in the most beautiful scenes, it's not always easy to get all the elements to work together.

Amazing, Gary...Each time I see this one, I see something new that I hadn't noticed before...True to my manner, I guess! But, really, two things struck me here that I did not conjure-up before: One is just simply how absolutely perfect this composition is to me..... In Every way! I always start with emotion and the feeling I get with this is just so uplifting! The composition is so perfect and so beautifully conveyed. The light so perfect, features presented so majestically and leading my eye to and through and around/ the image. I know, reading your article, you didn't have much choice in terms of positioning to get the rainbows, but, look at what you gave us in the choice that you had? And the second thing that I noticed but simply did not see before (thank goodness, is Denny almost finished here?) Is the angular intersection of the sun beams coming in from the upper left hand side...striking right into the rainbow and cliffs (duhh that's why there's a rainbow there!)..But I simple had not noticed that before..And it HAD to take some serious exposure and perspective concentration to be able to provides us the vision of those beams. Man did I go on too long...But again, this is in my view, a perfect image in every sense of the word..Thanks Gary sorry for the long comment here. :-) dj

@Denny Jump Photo: Thanks, Denny. Every time I finish one of your critiques I think to myself, "Damn, I'm good." :) Okay, seriously, I think it's important not to be hyper-analytical in the field, but it is important to analyze and understand later (so I always appreciate your thorough comments). For this one, all the obstacles made it difficult to stay in that "organic" place, but I think finally got there when it came time to click the shutter. That's not so hard when exposure and DOF aspect is second nature, something I fear automated capture and ease of processing has stunted in many of today's photographers.
