Hi Gary - Such a wonderful array of colours and tones here. I really enjoy this great blend of clouds and moon, sky, and earth . All working together as composed by you. The rocks just amaze me. The rich brown is completely fantastic. Your angle of view (pov) here really allows the onlooker to feel the imapct of this beautiful Eastern Sierra scetion of California . I have always been amazed at the Eastern Sierras. One can certainly see why Rowell felt that it had everything. Your work and images bring that to us all...and we should all be thankful for that..I Love this one Gary! Hope Hawaii went well...best of luck at No Arizona - say hi to my buddy the gang for me :-) Cheers Denny

@Denny Jump Photo: Thanks, Denny—yeah, I think the Eastern Sierra may be the most underrated landscape in America, both for its beauty and its diversity (and Death Valley is less than 100 miles away!). Maui was indeed fantastic, and we totally nailed PanSTARRS the night we went to Haleakala. Looking forward to Northern Arizona, but looking forward even more to a few days of Spring Training with Don and his son before we start. Go Giants!

Wow Thanks for taking time to write back, Gary - I know you are loaded down - Yes I saw those PanSTARRS shots from atop Haleakala....they were absolutely Awesome - INDEED GO Giants!!

what a great progression of light and colour tones from one layer to another! the shaded rocks, then the warm illuminated ridges and then the red clouds in the sky - an amazing sight and superb work to capture this scene!
