Hi Gary - This is such a wonderful and ethereal scene to me, I think I blabbed on your word press blog re this image so I won't waste your time on that, but I do have to say that I am just captivated by the way you have slowed the surface water with your fantastic time settings and exposure..the detail of the rocks, even though they are mostly smooth, seems to absolutely JUMP out at me as I stare at them! This location that you found, and the story that you told about this place and the old guy were all just wonderful and so,filled with karma! And if anyone deserves some good karma and feed back, you do. I so strongly feel attached to you and your methodology because I, also, am not a user of HDR techniques..not that I am really against them, it's just that I have this feeling that there are so many tricks and gimmicks and software and plug ins out there..Whatever happened to the guy or gal who just use their own heart and skills and brain and talent to put an image together as best he could..that is what you do and I am so in awe of you and your work partly because of that, but also because you are just one great guy! I wish you all the best sir!

@Denny Jump Photo: Thanks, Denny. The one thing I didn't mention about the old guy was that he said he spent almost 37 years in motion pictures. I didn't recognize him or ask his name, but he must have done alright to have a place right there on the ocean.

Where the earth meets the sky....wow....you are one of the most best people to help exploit the beauty around us.....and I mean that in a great way! ;)

wow! fantastic! the foreground is stunningly detailed and the clouds in the background are just right for this scene - not overpowering but with a subtle hint of colour and texture!
