The eastern exposure of its surrounding peaks make North Lake primarily a sunrise spot. On fall mornings, when colorful aspen reflect on the glassy surface, North Lake teams with photographers. But on this fall evening I found it empty, and a storm on the crest subdued the brilliant sky and captured brilliant sunset color.
The key to this capture was ensuring depth of field sufficient to ensure sharpness from the foreground rocks to the distant trees. I write a bit more about this on my WordPress site.
