Forest Light, Lady Bird Johnson Grove, Redwood NP

Posted by
Gary Hart (California, United States) on 6 June 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

I love photographing in the rain. Redwood groves are particularly conducive to rainy day photography for the soft, shadowless light that saturates the forest's rich, verdant hues. These soggy conditions gave a primordial feel that made it easy to imagine a fern-munching brontosaurus peeking from behind the tree. In my latest blog post I talk about this image, and also share my approach to photographing in the rain.

i like the rich and saturated colours here! this looks like a proper rain forest to me - i can almost smell the flora around me! i agree that wet conditions can suit scenes like this a lot - beautiful work!

I feel like a time traveller dear ! Right back into a primitive forest ! Jurrassic time. Beware, beware. Mr Tex is not far. Extra lights and tose trees are simply magnifiscent in their verticality.
