I finally put my "famous" (infamous?) tripod lecture down in words. Improve your photography and learn all about the Tripod Police. What could be better than that?

Gary, there is so much to love in this wonderful image which, to me, is a most beautiful vision of pure fantasy!! And light - oh my goodness, what light!.
The fantasy explodes from this entire image...theb beautiful purple blossoms set against the background light and soft orange glow of the poppies. The lupine blossoms have "halos" I swear.... The light just inspires as it shines from the corners and absolutely radiates off of the stem of the plant and the blossoms, as well. The top of the stem, with the unborn blossoms still in their dwelling, seems to give an almost serpent (a friendly serpent) feel to this plant...as if it is waving it's head from side to side and saying, "good day kind sir!" This wonderful vision, I could gaze upon for hours...days. This, by far, is quintessential soul from you, Gary!! I just love everything about this...every time I see it, I see more... I wish you all the best...AS always sir. DJ

a superb photo with indeed excellent sharpness and details! great article on the use of tripods as well... while i have always tried to use a tripod in most of the situations i have found my set up to be way too heavy for travel and general carrying around... so i recently changed to a stable but light weight set up... while it may not be perfect for those really windy days it is great to take with me almost anywhere i go and i figured out that i'd rather have that than no tripod as well... in the long term i will get another slightly heavier tripod to compliment this one...
