Mt. Whitney Arch by Moonlight, Alabama Hills

Here's another Mt. Whitney shot. Moonlight photography is a big part of what I do, and I usually try to schedule my workshops to include a moonlight shoot. One thing I really like about moonlight shooting is that I usually have extremely popular photo locations to myself. In this case I spent the night out in the Alabama Hills and didn't see another soul.

Thanks, SK. I took my workshop group back there Wednesday night. We watched the crescent moon set behind Mt. Whitney then photographed star trails for an hour or so in a very chilly wind. Back in Lone Pine we shared our images over pizza and by the time the pizza was gone we were all so excited we drove back up and shot some more. Great night in a great location.
